Job Overview

The Lean Specialist role is responsible for implementing and managing lean principles and methodologies to the department they support. The Lean Specialist will be responsible for coordinating, leading and supporting the day to day lean transformation work and all education and training around same. 

How You Will Make An Impact

  • Works cross functionally with different teams within assigned network to implement lean best practices focused on process improvement
  • Coordinates and facilitates system aligned education and curriculum, maintaining consistent standards, methods and terminology
  • Delivers Lean Six Sigma training (Green Belt, Kaizen, etc.). May include mentorship of green belts, yellow belts, and Kaizen leaders in teams
  • Coordinates the information and tracking of standard work and learnings from Kaizen activities and workshops to help guide the organization in relation to readiness
  • Implements system standard lean transformation principles, methodologies and processes to enable high value, highly reliable, and standardized work processes
  • Tracks and coordinates Kaizen measures within the assigned network and locations
  • Lead high impact Lean Six Sigma projects
  • Drive the identification, adoption, and continuous improvement of scalable end to end processes
  • Acts as the liaison and point of contact for both internal and cross-functional projects
  • Meets regularly with client management for status updates
  • Leads daily operations and directs the implementation of standards, procedures and best practices that ensures a cohesive, consistent and uniformed global program
  • Regularly communicates updates on emerging technologies, solutions and projects that may impact business operations, employees or vendors
  • Provides ongoing communication of planning, project status, issues and risks in a timely fashion to internal security teams, cross functional management and executive teams. Manages performance metrics to evaluate progress and success
  • Researches and evaluates industry standards and benchmarks to support projects
  • Create sustainable communication themes in conjunction with systematic routines, processes, and preparedness activities for client to execute consistently
  • Distinctive problem-solving and analytical skills combined with strong business acumen and technical savviness

What You Will Need To Succeed

  • High School Diploma or GED required 
  • A minimum one-year experience in a physical security setting required  
  • 3 – 5 years of experience in Lean/Continuous Improvement/Six Sigma required
  • Proficient in MS Suites to include Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Visio
  • Experience in Lean/Six Sigma tooling such as Kaizen, 5S, Seven Wastes, Value Stream Mapping, Flox, Visual workplace, Voice of the Customer (Voice of the Customer), Maturity Scorecard, etc. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Six Sigma black belt
  • Bachelor's degree
